LADOGA — James E. "Jack" Elless, 61, of Ladoga, died Sunday. Mr. Elless had worked for 27 years at Detroit Diesel-Allison Division. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of Ladoga Masonic Lodge and American Legion. He was born in Kansas Sept. 25, 1917, a son of George W. and Nettie Mae Wright Elless. He was first married to Dorothy Thomson. He was married March 11, 1961, to June Cox. He is survived by his wife; two sons, James T. and Jack E., both of Ladoga; three step-sons, James Byron Cox and Earl C. Cox, both of Ladoga, and Carl E. Cox, who is stationed in Korea; a step-daughter, Geneviene Mahorney of Rt. 2, Ladoga; two brothers, George of Crawfordsville and David of Ladoga; one sister, Nellie Tuttle of Gaston; and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
